Runs in a sandboxed frame on a separate origin, in its registry's own theme. Mounted with no props — an item that paints an empty box is given its name as text, and some items need input to show anything.

Notes from the author

Reach for Notice when a message belongs to a specific surface: a sync result under a Settings section, a validation error beside a form. Pick the tone (success, warning, error, info, neutral) and it sets the right live-region role. Use this instead of hand-rolling a tinted status box. For a floating app-level notification, use Toast.
